365 Days...

My first post. A little intimidating, but I'm just going to jump in.

One year from today will be my wedding day. And a few days after that, we'll be on our way to an undetermined location for our honeymoon. Somewhere beachy, tropical, breezy...basically, a location that necessitates a BIKINI!

So, this is my open letter to myself and the world. I am tired of the one-piece with camouflaging shirring. I'm tired of the cover-ups. I want a BIKINI! And most importantly, I want to wear a bikini with confidence and pride.

Here are my current stats:
Weight: 144 lbs
BMI: 26.4 (healthy BMI range is 18.5-24.9, or 100-136 lbs)
Dress size: 10

Here are my goal stats:
Weight: 115 lbs
BMI: 21.1
Dress size: 4? (no idea, but I will be happy with whatever dress size I am)

Here are the steps I'm taking to get to my goal:
  • Eating healthy and counting calories and protein. I am going to make an effort to eat more veggies and less carbs/fats.
  • Working out 6 days a week (a mix of strength and cardio...not just hanging out on the elliptical, but really sweating!).
  • Blogging as a way to hold myself accountable, especially since I work in education and have extra time this summer to get started.
  • Creating inspiration boards to look at when I'm feeling uninspired.
  • Making smart choices: I can eat whatever I want, but I need to do so in moderation. And I need to track what I'm eating as well.
I can do this. It's going to be hard work, but it will be worth it. My body has done me well, and I love it. But I haven't been great about keeping it in shape. I'm looking forward to having a strong, lean body, more energy, and BIKNIS!!!
